Ethernet Gateway Units (EGUs)

EGUs allow SHM loggers (and other devices using serial protocols) to communicate with the host PC via Ethernet using the TCP/IP protocol.  There are two models :-

• EGU1 - Single RS485 serial port
• EGU4 - Four independent RS485 serial ports

In most cases, the new SHM Logger Integral Ethernet Interface is now a more cost-effective solution than an EGU1. We also have Wi-Fi EGU solutions for cable-less connections to your network. The Ethernet Gateway Unit is based around a terminal server. It allows SHM Loggers (RL32, UL24, UL8, DL4) to communicate over the network using TCP/IP and Telnet protocols. We can also network enable any device that has a serial RS232, RS485 or RS422 interface. We also have wireless devices that use Wifi or Wi-Fi 802.11 to communicate. V19
