The Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) Scheme

The Enhanced Capital Allowance Scheme enables businesses to claim 100% first year capital allowances on investments in energy saving technologies and products, encouraging investment in low carbon technologies.

The ECA maintain an Energy Technology List of approved suppliers and equipment (the Energy Technology List or ETL), that can be searched on the ECA Product List Search page.

For AMT (Automatic Monitoring and Targeting) systems, individual items of equipment do not need to be listed, but the system as a whole must be audited by DEFRA to obtain a Certificate of Compliance.

SHM is on the Energy Technology List as an approved supplier, and can advise businesses that want to invest in equipment that is eligible for an ECA.
